The Overcoat by Nicolai Gogol
Costume Design - 2008
The Overcoat is an abstract journey through the mind of author Nicolai Gogol as he composes a tale about a man who gains and loses a coat. In keeping with this abstract idea, the extras need to change outfits quickly. I designed a series of all black formal outfits to form a base for the actors. As the play changed, the actors would change the outer layers, creating a different role.
Blood Wedding by Peter Lorca
Make Up Design - 2008
Blood Wedding involves the marrying of two families who have long been at war. Unfortunately, the bride runs off with her former lover, starting a new chapter to the bloodshed. The wedding was meant to be a buildup of pressure until the eruption of the chase through the forest. I did the makeup for the second half, helping with the woodcutters, but mainly designing the face of Death.
Rude Mechanicals by William Shakespeare
Prop Design - 2009
"The Rude Mechanicals" is a portion of A Midsummer Nights Dream. This play within a play is a semi satire of Romeo & Juliet, telling the story of Pyramus & Thisbe. This play was given to our design team as a challenge; we had to design the play with left over props and make it look like the animal kingdom.
